Cookies and local storage on SlateGrid
This Cookie Policy explains how SlateGrid uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies on our websites and applications. We comply with Australian privacy and spam requirements and only use cookies that are necessary to deliver the service unless you provide consent for additional functionality.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your browser, keep you signed in, and remember preferences. SlateGrid also uses local storage and session storage to securely maintain state within the web application.
2. Cookies we use
SlateGrid currently uses the following categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary – authentication cookies (for example,
sg_session) keep you logged in and protect against CSRF and other abuse. These cookies are essential and cannot be turned off. - Functional storage – local storage is used to remember UI preferences (such as theme or table layout) and to support offline-ready features in the SlateGrid PWA.
- Analytics (optional) – we are evaluating privacy-preserving analytics tools. If we introduce analytics or marketing cookies we will update this policy and provide consent controls before they are set.
3. Third-party cookies
When you complete a payment, Stripe may set its own cookies to enable fraud prevention and checkout functionality. These cookies are governed by Stripe’s privacy policy. SlateGrid does not host third-party advertising cookies.
4. Managing cookies
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can block or delete cookies, but removing strictly necessary cookies may limit or disable access to SlateGrid. Instructions for managing cookies are available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and your browser vendor.
5. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology or regulation. We will post the updated policy and adjust the “Last updated” date when changes are made. Significant changes will also be communicated via email or in-app notification.
